Finals Week Stress Relief

keganphillips-sp16-03Finals week can be a stressful time for students. When students are stressed, so are faculty and staff. In attempting to keep stress levels to a minimum, the concerned staff of Pius XII Memorial Library organizes stress-relieving activities for students to engage in during finals. Other SLU-based organizations and members of the SLU community are welcome to use the library to conduct activities as well. This semester, the Public Health Committee distributed fresh fruit, Jesuits handed out java, therapy dogs provided companionship, puzzles were pieced together, pages were colored, and massage chairs soothed muscles.

The mission of Saint Louis University “is the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of God and for the service of humanity.” Well, the truth is that students get stressed during finals. Being able to help alleviate some of that stress is a service we are able to provide to humanity. Not only do the stress-relieving activities held in Pius Library benefit the health of the students, they also preserve the health of faculty, staff, and parents alike.
